Chaves is known throughout Europe for its natural thermal baths. Its medicinal water is rich in minerals with high anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The city also features the 20 century old Trajan bridge built by the Roman empire as one of its main attractions.
Our vineyard is planted with approximately 20,000 vines of Portuguese varieties, notably Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Fernão Pires, among others. The vineyard is planted in "geios", the traditional terraced plantation system and has been certified for Sustainable Farming since 2016. We also have 800 olive trees which we harvest, press and bottle for our own extra virgin olive oil. Our winery is located right on the property where you’ll be staying.
If you enjoy golf, there are two courses nearby. The Vidago Golf Club which is a 9-hole course and the 18-hole Par 72 course at Vidago Palace, both within a 10 minute drive. At the Vidago Palace Hotel Spa you can experience customized treatments in an amazingly beautiful setting.
